The Cobb County Superior Court Clerk’s Office files, maintains, protects, and preserves all of the county Superior Court’s records and documents. This includes real estate records and the Office has separate divisions for real estate and court records. Court records are official documents generated throughout legal proceedings, such as criminal case files, bankruptcy records, and records from family or probate court.

They contain information about proceedings, including names of the parties involved, dates of hearings, testimony and evidence, and rulings in cases. Court records are kept for a period of time and then disposed of or archived. Most are considered public, though some information may be redacted when copies are provided to the public. In some cases, court records may be sealed and require a court order to access, but many others can be accessed easily online. The current Cobb County Superior Court Clerk is Connie Taylor.

Cobb County provides an online Court Records Search portal. There, records may be searched by the name of an involved party, case number, case type, pleading type, attorneys names or numbers, or CCFN number. Basic identifying information provided through such searches is the case number, attorney and case status, and filing date. The more detailed information provided about each case includes the names of plaintiffs and defendants and information about the pleading (date, type, CCFN number), hearings (name, type, and court action), attorneys, appeals, cost, and disposition.

Requests for copies of court records must be written and require advance payment of associated fees. Payments must be in the form of a cashier’s check or money order. Requests may be submitted by mail, in person, or by courier. Those that are mailed must contain a self-addressed stamped envelope for delivery of the records. The fees vary by request method and are published on the Court Clerk’s website. They range from 50 cents per page plus $2 per document up to $24 for certified copies of divorce decrees.
